Tiny Mittens

I got the idea to make these after seeing some tiny mittens on a line(they were knitted though) at Anthropologie, which I loved but didn’t want to spend the money. I have a hard time doing that when I know I can make it! I got to work on it, and made four so far, but gave one set away to my mom. I want to have enough to have a line of mittens someday… but so far this is all I have left. I didn’t use a pattern, just made it up :)
I have been thinking about sharing it as a free pattern on my blog someday; just haven’t sat down long enough to do it yet.

I thought I'd leave you with a little photo of lovely little Sheila, inside my drawer, 'hiding'.
She thinks I can't see her.
:)
Silly cat.
Happy Tuesday! I have a huge test I have been busily studying for Philosophy today. Wish me luck!

Yodeling Angel

This angel had been hanging on my wall with a different face for some time.
I decided to paint over it and so this is the result.
She is singing in a comical little face that made me chuckle after I finished painting it.

She is rather humorous, no?
:)

I thought I'd share a little photo of Rosalinda 'helping' my mom pin a quilt.
Cats are good like that.
Happy Monday!

Mushroom Clock

Hello there!

I have another finished project to share. A little wall clock that I painted with a happy mushroom. I got the wooden form on sale last year at Hobby Lobby, and just now got around to painting it.
All in all I am happy with how it turned up.

And now here it is on the wall in my room, right next to Sam the Mushroom man.

Here's a little close-up of his face.

He's happy to see you!

Can you tell?

I thought I might leave you with a photo of my sweet Sheila, snoozing on my yarn.

What a cutie she is.

:)

Happy Thursday!!

Summer's Farewell

Why must summer leave so quickly??
Not that I'll really miss the heat but rather the extra free time I get to work on projects. Actually I will be glad for the cooling that comes with fall, maybe I will actually be able to wear some of the cold weather things I have been making. That brings me to my latest finished project another shawl! I used the pattern 198 Yards of Heaven by Christy Verity, but I used four balls of yarn to make it bigger. It was made with Noro Chirimen in the green colorway.
I love the way it turned out.
Plus I had a little bit left-over, which is always nice, and guess what I made?

Ta-Da!!!
A headband!
It is from another free pattern called Tangled by Emily McLaughlin.
Click here to visit her blog, EmmyBear, and get the pattern.

I finished it in only two days, working on it on and off, yesterday and today.

This is Sheila "helping" me finish the headband, as she often does.

I love how peacful and sweet she looks like this :)

Then wam-oh!!
Oh no, watch out yarn!
You are her prey!!!!
I spent this afternoon cooking up some little treatsies for Jessica, so first up I made some chocolate covered strawberries. One of her favorites, of course.
Then I made some meltaway cookies, which she also loves but really we all love them.
I have been working on sewing up some pot-holders and other bits as well, trying but failing to forget today is the last day of summer...

Oh well, here's to a grand fall of new beginnings, new classes, and new-found friends!

XOXO, Callie

My New Polariod Camera!!!!

I got a Polaroid camera!!!
I had recently gotten some gift cards and because I have yearned for this little camera for some time decided it was time.
The first packet of film was gone within the first hour of getting it, so heady my happiness was over it. It's little bubbly cuteness makes me smile. I am already planning a little crocheted cover for it...
(The first picture above is my sweet kitty Sheila's whiskers, the next is when I forgot to change the setting from indoors to outdoors while taking a photo of some sunflowers, and the last is me and Sheila!)
This is a Fuji Instax Mini Camera 7s. It's pictures are smaller than the older Polaroid we used to have, but that just makes it all the more cute! :)
(The first one below is my sister Jessica of Jessica Leigh La Lou, the next is Kaitlyn of My Baloney, and the third is my mom of Maria's Secret Garden.)
We had just gotten back from Garner State Park and were all looking a little tired, so probably not the best time to take portraits of everyone in my family but I couldn't help it!

The best thing about this camera is that it is instant joy, with just the click of the button, and viola! A new photo!

( The first one below is Sheila, my brother Michael, and Schatzi. I actually took two pictures of Sheila but the first one she moved and all I got were her whiskers, which seem rather ghostly.)

Here they all are lined up in all their Polaroid wonder :)

Here's a little song to brighten your day!

Sheila Kitty Revisited

Why hello there! This is Sheila, curled up on my floor while I was in the middle of cleaning, so please try to ignore the Hancock's bags in the background...
...I swear this cat is the sweetest thing ever, all she has been doing lately is purring like crazy, sitting happily on my lap of her own volition, playing fetch with her string (is she part dog?!?!?), rubbing up against me, meowing when she sees me, running up the stairs and straight to my door :), sleeping in my lap while studying, and the list goes on...she gets sweeter everyday.
Today I painted more, and studied quite a bit for a psychology test I have tomorrow. But never fear, tomorrow I will be happy to show you what I have painted.
Happy Monday!

I'm on Diamond in the Rough today!!

Hello everyone!
I am so excited to announce that I am on Diamond in the Rough today!! I would really like to thank Rhianne for asking me to contribute. It made me so happy to be a part of it, so once again thanks Rhianne.
Above is another one of my newest drawings which I used in my post, feel free to stop by and see them! Click! Click!
I just couldn't bear to not share you some pictures of Schatzi and Sheila 'helping' me make my bed :)
Schatzi is such a silly dog. She always makes this face when I try to take a picture...
Sheila tried to hide in my sheets as per usual and wouldn't come out for a good while, not only that but when I tried to get her out she attacked!
I still love her though, and I think she thought she was some wild cat out in the forest or something...who knows? One can never really tell with cats.

Can you see how well she was at blending in?

Afternoon Delights

"The earth laughs in flowers"- Ralph Waldo Emerson
My mom bought gave me these carnations which have been sitting on my bedside table for the past week and are just now dying. I love fresh flowers so much. They brighten my day just by looking at them. I know a lot of people who look down on these flowers as being boring but I love them :)
They are ruffled little beauties to me...
My bed seems happier with my tree pillow from Little T Jane :)
...until Schatzi decided to take a nap on it.
I recently bought a new little Japanese juniper bonsai, complete with a little elderly fisherman.

Sheila likes to snooze in this corner of my room. She looks so cute like this!
Here is a photo of my in table complete with flowers and all.
I have been listening to this song quite frequently lately. I really like to listen to Jason Aldean and actually went to go see him in concert last Rodeo. Enjoy!

Sheila Kitty

This is my lovely kitty Sheila. She is quite adept at hogging the window in my room but is great company when I am working on a project like right now. I love my big kitty!
