I used Noro Chirimen in the blue colorway. I love how they turned out and seem almost to be made from two different balls of yarn but that's what I like about them. I ended up making them much longer than the pattern calls for since I have larger hands than most and they fit peerrrrfect :).
They were very relaxing to knit even if I did sweat quite a bit knitting them in the heat of the summer............ why is it sooooo hot? Anyways, I forgot to photograph it but they have these nice little crocheted finger placements to fit like little cubby holes which I really like. They keep my hands nice and warm and I can't wait to really be able to use them in the cold.
Another finished project!! I'm really staying on track and it makes me so happy. I feel really relieved that my project pile is actually diminishing. So good.

(P.S. In case you couldn't tell that's my sister Kaitlyn of My Baloney, modeling for me. Thanks beauty.)
Well, honestly it's because I loved the first so much and wore it so much that I wanted another. Plus in my mind the rainbow would look beautiful in entrelac and I had only one ball...in the end it all added up to making another. Also it was getting hard to try and match things with it, but that's another story.
Which is good because it looks just like I imagined it would :)
This one was much quicker in the making, it took me about three days on and off working on it. And luckily I happened to know a beautiful model named Jessica of Jessica Leigh La Lou to showcase this for me. Thanks sista!
I love the rainbowy goodness! :)
I've been vacationing with my family this whole past week and finally got access to a computer today. So sorry I've been a little gone...but in any case I have so much of the trip to share.
I actually took these pictures after we'd been in the car all day and walking around the state capitol (more to come). We faced the heat of the day not to mention the 15 mosquito bites I got whilst photographing away.
I love working with clay, and luckily I got to do just that a few weeks ago. I made an owl, a mushroom, and a little clay bowl, as well as some other things I have not finished yet. I was obviously on a red and white theme, but then all of a sudden blue just had to be done! :0)
I wrote free as in 'free as a bird'...get it?
This little shroom is just that: little itty bitty and cute!
My brother, Michael, and I went to the San Antonio Zoo last Wednesday. It was really enjoyable, but also unbearably hot. I still really enjoyed going and plus I got to take some photos! :)
I noticed later that the bulk of the pictures I took were of birds!
Gasp!
Now who's surprised?
This bird not only flew onto Michael's head but also began scratching around and trying to yank out bits of his hair! Then it refused to get off for about three minutes :) This swan swam straight towards us when we walked near, and just kept staring at us.
Eerie, but cool.
I got to watch Captain Horatio Hornblower last night starring Gregory Peck. Let me just say it wasn't my favorite of his...it was rather cheesy. Still it is always nice to watch an old movie whilst knitting. And looking at Gregory Peck sure made it that much easier to watch :)
Have you seen any good movies lately?

(P.S. I've been loving listening to the new album from the First Aid Kit. Thought you might enjoy!)
Remember this book, Kazekobo's Crochet Lace? I did a post about it back in October 2009! It was actually finished right after that, but only just blocked/mildly starched it in June and then photographed today with my sister Kaitlyn of My Baloney as the model.
(Isn't she a beautiful freckley goddess?!)
It seems to have taken awhile (as you can see) to finally show you :)
But everything in its own time right?
This necklace makes me happy, the little flowers, and leaves so pretty! Although I did have some difficulties with understanding the chart at first but then finally figured it out after a bit.
I used this really pretty vintage button for the closure. It sparkles and shines like a little diamond. Usually I don't make things in white but I felt this necklace was the exception, since it was just too pretty to pass up.
I loved loved loved the finished object and the book, after I showed it who was boss and figured out the charts :)
heehee
Things have been so busy here. I just started a new job yesterday, and before that had been going to a lot of interviews, and so on in the hopes of getting hired. It paid off and I am now employed! woo hoo!
It is so hot and sweaty and murky here. Not to mention all the stinking mosquitoes :(...but I am enjoying the summer all the same and have still found time to do some writing, crocheting, sewing, reading, and knitting. I am really getting pumped up about the swap, so many great people have entered!!!

Just a short post for today.
Love this quote so much and the greenness of my flickr favorites for the week. :)
Spent a good part of the day babysitting, and then went to the bookstore with my family whilst it rained the day away....
Just a little reminder of sorts so that you can remember to enter the giveaway!! Today is the last day!!
Also the badge for my swap was mysteriously not working, but should be fixed now, so if you want to get the new html it should all be in working order. Thanks!
Also, this song Tightrope by Janelle Monae really makes me want to dance! Not sure what this Indepence Day Weekend holds in store for me. What about you?
