Clay owl

I finally got around to finishing this little owl. It is a real treat to have it done! If you remember this post, all the way back in August, that I showed you its relatives so to speak, as they were made all on the same day. Well, this is one of those 'other things I have not finished yet' that I mentioned, but now it is!
It is really tiny.
I gave it to my brother Michael, and really I had him in mind when I made it.
He took one look at it and said "Is that mine?"...
I guess somehow he knew.
I like how it looks somehow inquisitive.
Happy Sunday!!

Amigurumi Octopus

I made a little amigurumi octopus for my sister Kaitlyn on her birthday two years ago. It is from the book Amigurumi World: Seriously Cute Crochet by Ana Paula Rimoli.
I crocheted it with crochet thread to miniaturize it. Kaitlyn was pleased with it, but she also knew what I was making, since she picked it out.

Have you seen those Silly Bandz that are so popular right now? Well, my brother has some and this one was an octopus that he gave to my sister.

I couldn't resist this little picture of Ranger plopped out in the sunshine while I was taking these photos.

Note the quizzical brow?

I'm about to go to work... see you soon!

Clay Goodies

I love working with clay, and luckily I got to do just that a few weeks ago. I made an owl, a mushroom, and a little clay bowl, as well as some other things I have not finished yet.
I was obviously on a red and white theme, but then all of a sudden blue just had to be done!
:0)

I wrote free as in 'free as a bird'...get it?

This little shroom is just that: little itty bitty and cute!

Probably my favorite I made!
Oh wait he's hiding in the bushes :)

He likes you!
No really! He does.
How's your Wednesday goin'?

Bluebonnets Abound

My mom and two sisters Kaitlyn and Jessica went to Roundtop Texas three weekends ago for the Marburger/Warrenton Antique Fair. It was a long trip but a good one nonetheless.
I unfortunately totally blanked about taking pictures of the actual event, however along the way back while driving through a small town which I can't remember the name of...sheesh...we spotted a whole cemetery full of bluebonnets.
It was so beautiful yet kind of eerie.
They were everywhere it seemed.

This statue was so stoic, I actually walked halfway through just to take a photo of it :)

This is actually my favorite time to be in Texas as all the wildflowers are blooming. It is such a treat seeing all the colors along the highway and in people's yards.
Bluebonnets are so lovely don't you think?
I am not a real huge fan of being in cemetarys, it feels kind of strange to me to be so close to all the graves especially since these seemed to be rather uncared for, so I made sure I left it rather quick.

I have been very busy with some serious spring cleaning in my room. It has been sort of slow going but so far it is making me happy to see it cleaner! Hopefully this cleaner room will mean a more productive atmosphere to create in. I am really looking forward to showing you the finished product! Anyways, I have a test to study for tomorrow so I better get to it :)

My classes this semester are really frustrating me! I am not really enjoying them at all :(
It doesn't help that I am not taking any art/creative related classes. Darn! So I have been trying to do some creative things on the side and I have but it has been so gray and raining here that I haven't been able to take any good pictures... except of our cats! I actually have been making stuff and I can't wait to show you! But in the meantime you'll just have to enjoy:
Rosie taking a sun bath
Sheila getting a stratch on the chin :)

And big Maximo smiling for the camera!

Talk to you later! XOXO, Callie
