I was very anxious to get this book,Juju's Loops by Juju Vail and Susan Cooper. I have two other books from Loop in London, and once this came out it had to be mine! I managed to get a friend’s daughter to bring me a copy from there to Texas. It was well worth it. Although the other shawl Brown Eyed Susan, was my initial favorite, I was swayed into knitting this one first somehow.
And wow! What a wonderful pattern. This one is called Prairie. Very well written, and luckily found all the errata before beginning. This was just the ticket to get me back into knitting lace. First of all I always appreciate it when the purl row doesn’t have any patterning, so that was nice.
It was my second time doing nupps, and I finally seemed to master making them. Of course, it helped that there were several hundred in the pattern. First time using Pashmina, and it was a lovely yarn. This colorway is Spectrum. Soft and the dye job was superb, full of rich colors. Although the color bled severely when I washed it, but I just used a little vinegar to help the color hold.
I have a feeling this will be a shawl I wear again and again.
Many thanks to my beautiful sister Jessica for modeling.
Many things have changed since I stopped, and I am hoping to get back to a regular blogging schedule.I haven't blogged in so long. I have almost forgotten what to do. ;) But this seemed like a good start.
