Rainy Days and kitties...

Its been raining on and off... and whilst doing homework, cleaning the house, and working on some one's birthday gift I was happy enough to enjoy the company of the the trio of sweetest kitties around.

Rosie posie sleeping on my bed in a ball.
(She tried to smack the camera when I took this picture!)

The view from my room has been rather foggy, and rain splattered. When it rains like this I long to be in Germany.
It actually felt a little bit nippy for a few hours and so what did I do? Whip out my cozy handmade socks of course :)

Stay cozy!

It's been a while...

Right. Well, it's been a good while since I last blogged.
And now I feel like I don't know how to begin again.
Basically I got a cold and have been in bed/resting/sneezing/and coughing quite a bit. And schools almost out so I have been finishing up papers and projects.
I've finally finished all of that now, and only have finals left. I'm feeling much better now.
I've pretty much had the blues this past semester as none of my classes were fun or engaging with mean teachers to boot. :(

I only have a couple of days left and so I finally can breathe easier. It was weird not blogging, I kept thinking about it but had trouble knowing where to start again....so I feel like I need to introduce myself again so we can just start all over... :)

I'll start first.

Um... Hi. Hello. I'm Callie. Nice to meet you.
What's your name?
These pictures were taken a few weekends ago after a thunderstorm in my neighborhood and backyard.
The rollie pollies were everywhere!
Drip drop

Anyone know what kind of plant the one is above? I'd like to know. It is growing like crazy in our yard.

This whole area is usually dried up but was a raging river after the rain.

This song by The Carpenters describes what I have been feeling like, although I do actually love rainy days.

I'll be posting some more in order to play catch up as it were and have somethings I can't wait to show you!
See you soon, Callie

Illustration Inspiration

The Clock
...clock goes ticking all the day.
...k tock, tick tock!
...no other words to say
...tock! Tick tock!
It ticks all night; it ticks all day.
And when I sleep, or when I play,
The clock goes on the selfsame way--
Tick tock! Tick tock!
The Land of Counterpane
When I was sick and lay a bed,
I had two pillows at my head,
And all my toys beside me lay
To keep me happy all the day.
And sometimes for an hour or so
I watched my laden soldiers go,
With different uniforms and drills
Among my bedclothes, through the hills.
And sometimes sent my ships in fleets
All up and down among the sheets;
Or bought my trees and houses out,
And planted cities all about.

I was the giant great and still
That sits upon the pillow-hill,
And sees before him, dale and plain,
The pleasant Land of Counterpane.
My Dog
He's just a little puppy dog
With funny sprawling feet;
And oh, his tail does wag so hard
When I come down the street!

Rain
The rain is raining all around,
It falls on field and tree,
It rains on the umbrella here,
And on the ships at sea.

These pictures are the rest of what was in the Owl and Pussycat book I got. The pages for this story were strangely placed in between the rest of the book. The first story,The Clock, is unfortunately ripped slightly at the edge and so part of the first verse is gone :(...
On another note,I've been having problems with uploading images onto blogger hence the lack of posting. It seems to be taking an extra long time than usual but at least it is working now.
*knock on wood* :D
I spent this weekend/ rest of the week catching up on things I have been putting off, which was nice since I feel like I finally have accomplished something. I have much to show and can't wait!!
Anyways, how was your weekend?

Mushrooms

After all the rain we had, so many plants that looked dead are now bright and green again! Also I found these little mushrooms out in our back yard. I love mushrooms and have missed seeing them since we lived in Germany. It was a pleasant surprise!
