I had recently gotten some gift cards and because I have yearned for this little camera for some time decided it was time.
The first packet of film was gone within the first hour of getting it, so heady my happiness was over it. It's little bubbly cuteness makes me smile. I am already planning a little crocheted cover for it...
(The first picture above is my sweet kitty Sheila's whiskers, the next is when I forgot to change the setting from indoors to outdoors while taking a photo of some sunflowers, and the last is me and Sheila!)
This is a Fuji Instax Mini Camera 7s. It's pictures are smaller than the older Polaroid we used to have, but that just makes it all the more cute! :) (The first one below is my sister Jessica of Jessica Leigh La Lou, the next is Kaitlyn of My Baloney, and the third is my mom of Maria's Secret Garden.) We had just gotten back from Garner State Park and were all looking a little tired, so probably not the best time to take portraits of everyone in my family but I couldn't help it!
The best thing about this camera is that it is instant joy, with just the click of the button, and viola! A new photo!
( The first one below is Sheila, my brother Michael, and Schatzi. I actually took two pictures of Sheila but the first one she moved and all I got were her whiskers, which seem rather ghostly.)
Here they all are lined up in all their Polaroid wonder :)
Right. Well, it's been a good while since I last blogged.
And now I feel like I don't know how to begin again.
Basically I got a cold and have been in bed/resting/sneezing/and coughing quite a bit. And schools almost out so I have been finishing up papers and projects. I've finally finished all of that now, and only have finals left. I'm feeling much better now.
I've pretty much had the blues this past semester as none of my classes were fun or engaging with mean teachers to boot. :(
I only have a couple of days left and so I finally can breathe easier. It was weird not blogging, I kept thinking about it but had trouble knowing where to start again....so I feel like I need to introduce myself again so we can just start all over... :)
I'll start first.
Um... Hi. Hello. I'm Callie. Nice to meet you. What's your name?
These pictures were taken a few weekends ago after a thunderstorm in my neighborhood and backyard.
The rollie pollies were everywhere! Drip drop Anyone know what kind of plant the one is above? I'd like to know. It is growing like crazy in our yard.
This whole area is usually dried up but was a raging river after the rain.
This song by The Carpenters describes what I have been feeling like, although I do actually love rainy days.
I'll be posting some more in order to play catch up as it were and have somethings I can't wait to show you!
"I cannot pretend to feel impartial about colors. I rejoice with the brilliant ones and am genuinely sorry for the poor browns." Winston Churchill 1874-1965, British Statesman, Prime Minister
My little orchid is in bloom, and my second one is almost there :) I have been sewing like crazy (and so my room is in disarray*drat*), can you tell what I made? Happy Sunday!
Hey everybody! I just thought I'd share some of the new photos I took of my dolls! These aren't all of them but I just thought I'd show you a few... to see more click here!
"Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose." -Kevin Arnold
The quote above is my inspiration for this post! Today I was glancing through old photographs and discovered these sky photos I had taken a while back. What beauties! I was so surprised, I forgot I even had these...
PS: I made a blog badge/button! If you'd like to add it to your blog then scroll up and copy and paste the HTML! :) This is what it looks like:
Autumn has arrived here in Texas yet the leaves remain suspiciously green and will never turn red, orange, or yellow. Instead they will slowly wilt away into brown crisps and fall of in rapid successions. I am missing fall. I keep looking outside thinking that the leaves will be changing colors any day...but they won't. I loved this time of year in Germany loved the bright colors and the brisk days. But at least it isn't 90 degrees anymore...:)
All the rain we have had recently has made some really beautiful flowers and stange mushrooms pop up...all the grass is so green and looks so happy! School has been pretty crazy thus the pause in the posts, over the weekend we went to see the Terracotta Warriors in Houston which my sister made a really great post about here. I will try to catch up on all the things I have been up to soon! Hope everyone is having a utterly happy Tuesday. :)
I was lucky enough to come across this very talented photographer on etsy named Chelsea. Her shop name is chelsea3349. I was astonished to learn that photography is only her hobby! Can you believe it?!? These certainly look professional to me. I love the airy and dreamlike quality to her work. I hope that I too will someday be able to capture such beautiful images...:)
Be sure to check out her amazing selection of prints on her etsy.
