Lost Things

I can't even begin to say how much I like this music video. The stop motion, Fine Frenzy, the bird cage, the mustache, the scissors, the beauty of it all amazes me!!

Happy Tuesday blogging world :)

Rosie the Explorer

" I claim this drawer of blue jeans as my own!!" Rosie proudly exclaims.
"Why yes I discovered it", she grins.

Checking the surrounding area for safety.
" I run this country so no funny business,"says Rosita.
I believe Rosita thinks she has totally claimed and conquered my dad's drawer of Wranglers. I also suspect that she is under the impression that she blends right into the drawer... :)
Cats do the strangest things, but I still love 'em!
Happy Monday, and I have much to say about the past weekend, so stay tuned!
XOXO, Callie

I can't think of a proper name for this post...

Somethings I saw this week...

THE SUN!!

Finally!

It seemed like it was forever since it was a sunny day and lo and behold yesterday it was :),

Plants starting to bloom,

Schatzi's quizzical face,
Werner mooching it up,
Ranger looking at me with his amber eyes,
A random succulent plant growing in our yard,
A dragon snoozing in the leaves,

A gargoyle with a slight nose injury playing hide and go seek,

And here they all are, all the gargoyles that is, watching me take photos. What did you all see this week?

Have a happy Friday!

XOXO, Callie

Happy Belated Birthday Dad and New Creations!!

Happy Belated Birthday to the best dad in the whole world!!!!
Yesterday was my dad's birthday and we celebrated with cake and gifts. I love my dad so much and I sincerely hope he liked his gift which was this little dachshund doll.
I crocheted the little hat for him, since he seemed like such a stylish little devil :)
His scarf is an old ribbon I had which he told me was a must-have to complete his outfit...
The second part to the gift was this little pillow. This doll is shall we say very very long...
Another close-up portrait.
Once again happy birthday daddy, wishing you many more to come.
I love you dad!
Callie

Happy Thursday to everyone!

people will say we're in love

While in Austin last Friday with Kaitlyn of My Baloney, I found this bird figurine which plays the song "People Will Say We're in Love" from Oklahoma. I have always loved that musical since I was little so naturally I just had to get it...
I tried to upload a video of the music playing but it wouldn't load at all so I guess it will have to wait.
The seller conveniently put the song name on the bottom.
I have been debating whether or not to remove it, not sure yet.
Then, we stopped by another store where there was this little bird bowl made in Guatemala and slowly after not even thinking anything of purchasing it, I realized something.
I might be just a little bit obsessed.
Maybe...
I might be obsessed with birds.
Maybe, maybe not.

I'm not sure what justifises an obsession, but after looking through my worldy possessions, my creations, my blog, and so forth a substantial amount is related to birds.
So I guess I am obsessed, but in a good way right?
Happy Tuesday!!
XOXO,
Callie
P.S. Be sure to stop by my sister's blog My Baloney, she has some seriously great posts out!

Pretty As A Peacock Doll

Well, here is my newest creation, actually made last week before my sewing machine acted up on Sunday...so as you can see it is a peacock.
Of course it is not your ordinary peacock, instead it has bright rainbow colors on its tail, huge golden talons, and little buttons as accents.
The tail took the longest to make, both the cutting of the individual feathers, and the handsewing of it...but it was well worth it in the end!
Below is the underside of the tail.
A close up of his face.
He loves the camera!
I accidently made one leg too long and so as elegant as he appears, if he is not positioned exactly right, he looks as if he is making a side- stepping- dance- move.
hee hee :)
Look into my eyes
Here he is looking down.
Well as you can see, this doll was quite time consuming, and when my sister Kaitlyn of My Baloney walked in on me making it, she just laughed at me. I' m not sure why of course, but maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was still in my pjs at 4:00 in the afternoon(having worked on it since 11:00 that morning), had pieces of felt strewn all over my room, had multiple bins out, every color of thread out in front of me, multiple pieces of material out in front of me-in order to choose the perfect piece for the underside of course, as well as bits of miscellanous crafting supplies like scissors, glue, and so on....
Anyhow, my little peacock is in desperate need of a name.
Have any suggestions???
Happy weekend!
XOXO,
Callie
