My birthday came and went this year. It was splendid really, so much love and thought went into all the gifts I received, and all the little details of my birthday celebration. I felt like the luckiest girl in the world. I was even given a bouquet of flowers from my mom. :) I enjoyed them immensely for a week.
One day while out with my mom I bought this lovely little owl planter, that I filled with some trimmings of succulents. They are growing like crazy! Not only that, but I found this little wind up goose, that I have named Mathilda. I literally gasped when I saw it since I had been mooning over this one for some time and was pleased to find its female counterpart. I just got a new job. Hoping that everything runs smoothly for it.
This little guy is sitting on my windowsill as we speak. Isn't he quite a character? I love how happy he looks. I had him for about a year waiting for the right plant for him, when one day my mom had two leftover cactus's waiting for a pot.
While in Austin last Friday with Kaitlyn of My Baloney, I found this bird figurine which plays the song "People Will Say We're in Love" from Oklahoma. I have always loved that musical since I was little so naturally I just had to get it...
I tried to upload a video of the music playing but it wouldn't load at all so I guess it will have to wait.
The seller conveniently put the song name on the bottom. I have been debating whether or not to remove it, not sure yet.
Then, we stopped by another store where there was this little bird bowl made in Guatemala and slowly after not even thinking anything of purchasing it, I realized something.
I might be just a little bit obsessed.
Maybe...
I might be obsessed with birds.
Maybe, maybe not.
I'm not sure what justifises an obsession, but after looking through my worldy possessions, my creations, my blog, and so forth a substantial amount is related to birds.
So I guess I am obsessed, but in a good way right?
Happy Tuesday!!
XOXO,
Callie
P.S. Be sure to stop by my sister's blog My Baloney, she has some seriously great posts out!
I just got these vintage photographs/ephemera today and just love them! There is something quite special looking into other people's life through the camera. I love looks on their faces of utmost glee and how they are dress. I added in the one of the lady knitting because I love her look of concentration. Ah sweet nostalgia...
I was lucky enough to find this sweet little vintage doll while on vacation. She is so wonderful! I also found this old millinery rose which I plan on making into a pin. Both great finds!
