My gift to Kristie

This is what I sent to Kristie....

The little panda head is a pouch...
Here is what it looks like on the inside.

I drew this little monster on her card...
I decorated a moleskin notebook with my hand carved mushroom stamp.

I am so happy she liked it! :)

Been busy sewing, getting ready to go back to school, trying to find a job, and have been feeling rather uninspired as of late....

Hopefully things pick up soon.

I've been loving listening to Laura Marling lately.

This one is a current favorite: Rambling Man.

Gift from Twistyfishies

I was ecstatically overwhelmed to receive a package in the mail the other day from Kristie of Twistyfishies. When I sent her an 'angel' package in the mail, as a part of the Crafty Goodness Swap, (she never got anything), I sent it off and expected nothing in return.

However, she kindly sent me a thank you package in return. I am so pleased that she did.

I love everything in it!

As you can see in the above photo I got not one but two monster plushies!

Also inside were some sweet stickers, a lovely card, and her card and tag (both are designed so prettily I had to show you).

All in all it was an amazing gift.

The package was really nicely wrapped up...and I would've showed you but I was so happy to get it I tore it up to quickly to get any photos.
Can you blame me?
I mean how much cuter can you get than a one-eyed bat monster?
He is definitely going to hang up in my car.
Already, the yellow monster sits in a place of honor on my bed.
All it needs now is a name...
Any suggestions?

Thank you so much Kristie for your kindness. I really appreciate that you took the time to make all these wonderful goodies for me.

If you haven't already checked out her wonderful etsy shop, Twistyfishies, please do. She has such cute amigurumi, plush monsters, and felt plush. Very talented, is she not?
Also she has a blog of her own, here.

Once again thank you Kristie!
XOXO, Callie

my swap gift for Pip

My partner for the swap was Pip, of Pip and Life, which is kind of cool after she'd already won my giveaway a while ago. So the other night I felt so happy to see her post that she had gotten it. Be sure to check out her post here. It is so sweet! I am so glad she liked it.

This time I actually remembered to take some pictures of some of what I made...so as you can see I made:

a sunflower pin...

tiny cupcakes...

a crocheted necklace...

and of course a card and packaging...

all these made up my swap package.
Thank you Pip for your kind words about my creations for you. It does my heart good to see that you like it so much. Thank you thank you.

I am so happy you like it :)
That's me right now, happy happy happy!

Crafty Goodness Swap Received!!!!

Yesterday, the bestest thing was waiting for me on my doorstep after getting home from school. My swap gift from Shannon of Quilting in Pink, Bulldogs at My Side!!
All in all I love it! There was so much thought put into every part of the gift. It came in a fabric decoupaged box, as you can see in the above photo, and a sweet handwritten note. Inside the box were so many goodies, including this owl ribbon, an owl bookmark, four vintage post cards, some Lion Brand Yarn(already have a project in mind to make something with it), and a little tote.
This bookmark is perfect for all the books I read, and the ribbon is sparkly!
Oh my goodness!!!

Then on top of that there were these little postcards all from Florida, somewhere I'd like to travel some day.
Each one is so full of nostalgia, from a family of Glen, Otto, and Millie, detailing their trip to the everglades.

And then to top it all off there was this little tote, hand sewn by Shannon herself, which she suggested I use to carry my lunch, but I already have a new crochet project inside it, the flat bottom of it is perfect for storing. I love the material she used, the oranges, the yellows, the greens, the reds, all my favorites colors.

Thank you so much Shannon for all the beautiful gifts you gave me.

Everything is just so lovely!

:)

Be sure to stop by Shannon's blog, Quilting in Pinks, Bulldogs At My Side.
Thanks again Shannon!

Hello all.

There was an error with the badge for the Crafty Goodness Swap.

It is working now though, so if you took a badge but found it wasn't working, the new one is finally. If you wouldn't mind swapping the old html for the new, simply do so.

If you want to sign up for the Crafty Goodness Swap do so by clicking here and following the instructions. Come on it'll be fun! :)

Sorry for the issue.

Thanks! Callie

Crafty Goodness Swap 2010

EDIT: SWAP NOW CLOSED!

Crafts are good.

Right?

Right.

They make allow you to make something out of nothing. They allow you to express your inner artist. They are an expression of you. They make you feel good, happy, ecstatic even (of course sometimes when things go amok they make you livid but let's not go into that now shall we? ). My point is that crafty people are typically good minded spirits who like to share what they have made.

So...I was thinking it would be fun to have a crafty swap.

I have been wanting to do a crafty swap for some time, especially after I had had so much fun with Carly's swap during Christmas. So why not now??!! Summer is here and the hot languid days are perfect for crafting up all kinds of goodness.

Whether or not you are an absolute beginner, a long time crafter, a secret crafter, or have never crafted before (but been wanting to dip your toes in the water), or just love to make things, this is the swap for you!

So here's how it will work. You will be given a secret partner, and make something for them(with their interests in mind). Doesn't matter what craft genre you make it with, or how goood you are, the point is to share the love of crafting with one another. I know that crafting can be cheap or expensive so the tricky part is that what ever you make should cost $10-15 dollars if you were to sell it, not including shipping.

If you want to take part sign up here by leaving a comment with your name, email address, and whether or not you are willing to ship overseas. Then on Friday July 16, 2010 the swap will be closed. Then I will email you with the information on who your partner is, and the rest of the details. Your swap package should be sent out on August 19, 2010, giving you a little more than a month to whip something up.

Also if something comes up and you can't take part in the swap or have any questions, please email me as soon as possible, at

themagicalbean[at]live[dot]com

Interested? Good.

Then sign up and help to spread the love of crafty goodness.

I am so excited!!

XOXO, Callie

(PS: Look at the side of my blog to copy and paste the html to get the badge of the Crafty Goodness Swap for your blog.)

Edit: Sign up for this swap is now closed!

Check out what everyone made though below.

In order to make it easier for everyone to see what you made, or received please blog about them! In addition to that I made a link list from linky.com. Simply add your blog post on the list below, so that all the posts are in one place and easier to find.
