Clay Goodies

I love working with clay, and luckily I got to do just that a few weeks ago. I made an owl, a mushroom, and a little clay bowl, as well as some other things I have not finished yet.
I was obviously on a red and white theme, but then all of a sudden blue just had to be done!
:0)

I wrote free as in 'free as a bird'...get it?

This little shroom is just that: little itty bitty and cute!

Probably my favorite I made!
Oh wait he's hiding in the bushes :)

He likes you!
No really! He does.
How's your Wednesday goin'?

It's a zoo out there

My brother, Michael, and I went to the San Antonio Zoo last Wednesday. It was really enjoyable, but also unbearably hot. I still really enjoyed going and plus I got to take some photos! :)

I noticed later that the bulk of the pictures I took were of birds!
Gasp!
Now who's surprised?

This bird not only flew onto Michael's head but also began scratching around and trying to yank out bits of his hair! Then it refused to get off for about three minutes :)
This swan swam straight towards us when we walked near, and just kept staring at us.
Eerie, but cool.

I got to watch Captain Horatio Hornblower last night starring Gregory Peck. Let me just say it wasn't my favorite of his...it was rather cheesy. Still it is always nice to watch an old movie whilst knitting. And looking at Gregory Peck sure made it that much easier to watch :)

Have you seen any good movies lately?

(P.S. I've been loving listening to the new album from the First Aid Kit. Thought you might enjoy!)

Chocolate Beans on Etsy

These needle felted treasures are the work of chocolatebeans, a husband wife team I found on etsy the other day. Billy and Xuan make these wonderful little characters with such personality they made me smile when I first saw them. I knew I just had to share them, and as a bonus their shop name has one of my favorite words ("beans") in it!!! I know I know. It was meant to be :) . What a coincidence right?! I hope these photos can bring a smile to your face as well and that you're having a great week. I know I am. ;)
*Feel free to stop on by their shop and let them know what a great job they're doing!!

First New Prints for Shop!

I just uploaded my first prints into my shop! I am so excited...:) These will be just the first in many to come. I drew the top image in blue ink of my own bonsai and wrote the words "Peace has to take root to grow" underneath it. The next one is a little bird that is striding along done in pencil. Both prints measure 8 1/2 by 11. Do stop by my shop and check it out!

Happy September!

Hope everyone's September is great! I found this image today that I got a while ago when I was living in Germany. Although I do not understand German I just love the little gnomes and thought I would share! I have one for every month so I might show some more later. I have tried to find out the artist behind them but am stumped. Does anyone out there know?

Baby Wrens

There are 4 tiny baby wrens living outside our back door!! They are so tiny and fragile right now. It is quite interesting watching the parents feeding and caring for them nonstop. They hatched about 4 days ago, and they have grown so fast! I love birds so much and it is a pleasure to watch them!
